How I Asked Her To Become My Wife

Love is the most beautifull thing there is, and when you find true love, or the one, people always say, that you know it when it's there. It might sound like, yeah right, but it is, it's actually true, i never believed in marriage, i had a relationship for 11 years with my ex, she often asked about marriage and wondered why i never proposed to her.

Well, maybe i always knew that she wasn't the one. The one where i wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Till i met my new girlfriend, you see i was still in a relationship with my ex, when i met this girl, she started to work in an irish pub, where i was the 2th manager, and as you may guess, working together has brought us a bit more then just friendship ;-)

Strange enough since the beginning i started this relationship^i got a feeling i never had before, a feeling not only of being in love, but also a feeling of desire, a desire to start a new life, to change my 60 hour per week job, to settle down, to ease up. even though there is an age difference of ten years between us, it felt and still feels like, yeah this is the one.

The Proposal:

It was her birthday, a nice and warm day in august, we both took a day off, to celebrate, i had made dinner arrangements, and she booked a nice hotel, it was in the same city ass where i lived in, but becausse we never had the chance to go away for a weekend, it still felt like a holiday.

So i picked her up, and we went for a drink, as it was still to early to go to the restaurant, after a nice glass of champagne, we left to the restaurant, she didn't know, where i made reservations, so she was pretty surprised when she saw that it was a fancy restaurant with a michelin star. The restaurant was so fine, the service superb, and the food, oh my god!!!

By the time we got by the dessert and coffee i gave her her birthday present, a weekend away, No i did not propose in the restaurant, yet i was keeping the ring in my vest pocket, i didn't want to propose there, it would have been to obvious i guess.

So after dinner, we had a drink in a bar, where we met some of our friends and celebrated her birthday a bit more, even though my friends knew i would propose to her, they where very good in keeping up a poker face, luckely!

Around one a clock, whe strolled to the hotel, went up to our room, and opened up a bottle of champagne and talked a bit more, till a certain moment, she got tired and wanted to go to sleep, then i thought like damn i haven't proposed yet, i should do something, and since i was waiting for the perfect moment i neeeded to be quick, i needed to figure something out on the spot.

So, she got into the bed, and i also took my clothes of to get in bed as well, my costume vest was hanging over a chair, where the ring was cashed, so i took the small special bag where trhe ring was packed in, out of my vest without her even noticing, even though she was looking at me. i went over to the bed and dropped the bag besides me.

Still she didn't notice a thing. She started talking to me about what a great day it hads been, how much she enjoyed it, while i thought to myself, haha i still have a surprise, so i said to her, yeah honey, it's been a great day, a great evening, and i also really enjoyed it, but i've got one more present for you. She got up and said, what??? Why???.

So, i picked up the small bag, which was on the floor next to me, and gave it to her, off course she was surprised and didn't know what was happening, so she opened it up, took the ring out, and put it on her finger, at the same time, i took her hand, she was looking in awe to the ring, guess i chose a good one, and so i asked her, will you marry me, instantly she said yes, followed by huh what???? so i asked again, honey will you be my wife, luckely for me, she said yes again, boy was a happy, and so was she, she had tears in her eyes, and couldn't stop looking at the ring.

Next day in the morning whe both had to go back to work, i can tell you one thing, that was one happy day to work togheter.

I know it isn't the classicway to propose to your girl, but hey it doesn't hav to be either!
